Bacao Rhythm & Steel Band are on a roll, having recently dropped two singles, 'I Need Somebody To Love Tonight' and 'Dirt Off Your Shoulder', and now 'Raise It Up'. The new single is characteristically upbeat and super bold, owed to the fuzzy distorted bass line running through it, leading the other instruments. Drums play a fairly simple pattern, whilst guitar and steel pan simultaneously play a playful melody, mirroring the bass. Brass embellishments cut through with a sharp tone, placed in between the natural gaps. 'Raise It Up' is taken from the forthcoming Bacao Rhythm & Steel Band album Expansions due out on Big Crown Records July 16th. -Ellie Rose-Davies
